There are tons of methods that employers may do to see if you have done drugs, but there are three main tests: urine, the most common test, hair testing, and saliva screenings. Each of these different tests can detect a drug after a certain amount of time after use. Hair testing can detect some drugs up to 90 days, where urine can only detect if a drug has been used anywhere between 2 and up to 30 days.

You may ask what types of drugs employers are looking for on a drug test. Here is a list of common drugs that are tested:

How to Pass a Urine Drug Test

I’ve had to take a couple drug tests before and have only had to pee in a cup, and so have a lot of people I’ve talked to. This seems to be the most common way of detecting drugs usage. It’s also the easiest one to pass.

You can no longer try to spike or mask a drug test. Certain chemicals that could once mask drugs are now tested for within the urine sample and if found will result in a giant fail for you. Don’t use any of the following products to try and mask your test: Stealth, Golden Seal, TestKlear, Terminator Gold, Clean-X, and Instant Clean. If detected, they will make you fail.

You could dilute the sample if you live life on the edge and are willing to be a bit risky. Dilution will lower the concentration of a drug making it harder to detect on a urine test. Some urine drug tests can detect if you have diluted the sample in anyway, however. Damn technology, right? If you still want to dilute the sample be sure to use warm water because they will test the temperature of the sample too. It is a bit challenging to get water to dilute with because most in facilities the tester will stand outside the door, making sure you don’t use the sink or flush the toilet. Don’t use the toilet water either because it will most likely be a different color.

Don’t drink too much water and try to “flush” the drugs out of your system. This will result in clear urine and may get your sample flagged and tested at a lower level instead of the normal level. This may result in a failed drug test. You can also die from drinking too much water. To pass a drug test, just drink a normal amount of water, and make sure your urine isn’t completely colorless.

Another risky way of passing a drug test is substitute your sample with someone else’s urine. You could also substitute it with synthetic urine. Some states have outlawed the sales of synthetic urine, although you can get it in smoke shops. It comes in two forms, liquid and powder. For the powder all you have to do is add it to a few ounces of warm water. Both of these methods will make you pass a drug test. Although, synthetic urine doesn’t have the layer of bubbles or smell that real urine does.

How to Pass a Hair Drug Test

Hair drug tests are usually only used in situations where drug usage is zero tolerance, so for the standard job you won’t have to worry about this type of test. If you have to take a hair drug test, they will cut a small chunk of hair, at least one inch in length, off of anywhere on your body.

This is the hardest test to try and pass because there is almost nothing you can do to clean yourself out. How to Pass a Saliva Drug Test

Salvia tests are usually hit or miss drug tests because they can only detect drug use in the past few days. Apparently they are becoming more popular because they are easy to use and are low cost to businesses.

If you know the time that you are going to take the drug test, avoid taking the drugs. For example if you just had a job interview and have to take a saliva test, just refrain from doing the drugs for a few days. If you know you are going to fail the test, try to avoid it. If you can come up with some sort of excuse to not give them your saliva, you can delay it a few days and pass later.

When you take the test you will be told to place a pad between your gums and cheek and rub the pad back and forth until the pad is somewhat wet. What you are going to do here is try to position the pad between your cheek and your teeth, and then rub against your teeth. After you have done this you are supposed to leave it in your mouth for 2 minutes between your cheek and gums. Leave the pad between your teeth and gums. It can be hard to pull this off, but if you do it you will pass.

Drug Test Myths

There are a couple of myths about passing of failing a drug test. If you breathe in smoke from someone else, you will still pass because there is a grace cutoff level, so don’t use secondhand smoke as an excuse for not passing. If you eat a poppy seed muffin on the way to your drug test you will still pass the test. The cutoff levels are high enough to not detect this, so don’t use this as an excuse either. You would have to eat tons and tons of poppy seeds to actually fail because of it. Don’t add bleach to the sample. The pH of the sample will be changed and flagged with suspicion, and you will most likely fail anyway. Don’t drink bleach either; it will kill you. I know it looks tasty, but sorry. Bleaching your hair will not remove the drugs from your hair. It will just make you a new blonde. Aspirin will not cover the THC levels and create a negative. You will still fail even if you have taken aspirin before.
