First dates are extremely important for the rest of your relationship. They are your first impression and will determine if you get another chance at seeing your partner. Probably one of the more important first date advice is to always try and look your best. Looking your best makes you feel good yourself and it makes you feel more confident, allowing you to be less nervous throughout the date. It will also give you a great first impression. So, try to get some clothes that you think you look great in because it will definitely help you during the date.
If you can find the time, which shouldn’t be too hard, hug your date at the beginning. Right at the beginning of the date give them a hug and tell them how great they look. That will put a smile on their face and the physical barrier will be broken making it less awkward if you touch during the date. Your date may feel more comfortable by showing their attraction towards you because you did the same to them.
If you are a guy try and revive chivalry. Just so nice things for her; open the door for her, help her walk if the sidewalk is icy, or pull her chair out for her. This shows that you are a nice, considerate guy that is willing to nurture and protect your partner. Be sure not to overdo this though because it may make you look too old fashioned, so keep it to a minimum.
Be sure to compliment your date from time to time. Also be sure not to overdue this, so try to balance the compliments. This will make your date feel good, more confident, less nervous, and more comfortable with you. It also makes you seem positive, which is a good trait to have.
Always offer to pay for the date. It is a kind gesture and also shows you how the date is going. If she is really willing to pay your date might not have gone as well as you think. If she acts like she is going to pay, but doesn’t, this is a good sign that shows she was interested throughout the date.
If your date has gone really well, definitely make an effort to kiss your date. Even if your date has not gone terribly bad you should still try to kiss your date. An ok date with a kiss at the end could become amazing, for both you and your date. So, make the effort to kiss your date at the end; you won’t regret it. If you go in and they pull away, just act like you were going in for a hug.
Definitely try not to have sex on the first date, especially if you are looking for a relationship with this person. There have been a lot of studies that show that people who have sex on the first date have a harder time establishing a relationship than those that don’t. Do not try to have sex, even if the date went extremely well. Besides, it is nice to have something to look forward to.
