First Date Ideas: What To Do On A First Date

Before you ask someone out on a date you may want to have an idea of what you want to do during the time you will be together. Some people are very picky, but a first date should be fun for both of you. If you know anything about the person you are asking on a date, you should be able to pick something that makes both of you happy from this list of first date ideas. It’s crazy that some people don’t know what to do on a first date, but here are some suggestions.

Checks out the book, First Date Magic for tons of tips on making sure that you two have a great time and that your date wants to go out even more!

Everybody loves to bowl, so why not take your date bowling? This could be extremely fun for both of you, even if you suck at it. Bowling is great because you will be together with your own lane, table, you can talk with each other, and it will be less awkward because you won’t be staring at each other the whole time. If you are evenly matched you can have a little friendly competition, but try not to let it get out of hand. If you win don’t make the other person feel like a loser. Also, I know at our bowling alley they have something called moonlight bowling. It’s really cool because they turn off all the lights and turn some black lights on, play music, and it makes for a cool atmosphere.

Another great first date idea is to take your date to an amusement park. This will give you the opportunity to get close to each other and blame it on the rides. If you are a guy you can play some games and win your women a cute little stuffed animal. They love things like that. Don’t kill the date by forcing them to go on something if they don’t want to. This can make your date feel extremely uncomfortable, and make them want to leave. People want to have fun on dates, not feel pressured. There is something for everyone in an amusement park.

You could eat at a restaurant where the chef prepares the meal right in front of you. Most Japanese places do this, and I think this is something really cool that both you and your date can enjoy. The vision of your food getting prepared right in front of you is like a cool show. I know I like to watch it. This could also start some small talk, so you don’t have to worry about having nothing to talk about. Sometimes these places will try and sit a bunch of people at a table to save space, so what you can do to prevent this is to call ahead of time and see if you can get a table for the two of you alone.

The next first date idea is going out to play miniature golf. I think that this is great because even people who suck at golf, like me, can have fun putting the ball all around. Going at night will add even more fun to the date because they usually have cool lights on at that time. It may be more fun to go to a miniature golf course that has some sort of theme because it will seem more playful. Again, take the bowling advice and don’t make your date feel like a loser.

Going on a picnic is another great first date idea that will make any date happy. Picnics are romantic because it is just you, your date, some nice food, and fresh air. The best places for picnics are the park, or a place near a river. Having the sound of water in the background will either make your date pee their pants, or make them feel more relaxed. I would say it makes them feel more relaxed rather than making them pee their pants. Make sure that you bring a thick blanket big enough for two people. That way you can lie out and look at the clouds after you eat and won’t be feeling the grass prickling through. This could be extremely romantic and will definitely win you a second date.

I’m hoping that these first date ideas helped you out. Good luck and have fun on your date!
