Write Love Letters

Write love letters to each other. Handwriting letters to your spouse is a great reminder that you still love them and can help you reconnect. Also, taking the time to emphasize your partners greatest qualities can remind you of why you fell in love to begin with.

Spend Time Together

This one may seem obvious. But if you really want to save this marriage then it is critical. OK, here it is; Spend time together! I know right, crazy idea! Get rid of all the distractions around the two of you. Put the kids to bed. Turn off your cell phones, computers, TV’s, and sit down next to each other. Share your feelings with one another, listen to what they have to say, and learn from it.

Plan Dates

Planning date nights can also be crucial in order to save this marriage. Many couples get so set in their ways, and comfortable with being married for a few years, that they loose that energy, and even stop going out on dates and dressing up for each other. So it is important to bring back the energy, spunk, and livelihood in the relationship by planning fun, creative, or fancy dates, once a week. If you decide to go to a ritzy date, make sure you dress up nice for each other.

Love Yourself First

You can’t love someone else, before you can love yourself. I’m sure you’ve heard that a million and one times by now. It is very true though if you want to save this marriage. You need to do something for yourself. Maybe you are overweight. So in this case you should create and exercise program to help shed some extra pounds which will make you, and believe me, even your partner happier. If both you and your partner could do this activity by all means, take advantage of that. Do something that will make you feel better about yourself.

Make Your Spouse Number One

Make her/him the number one priority, the number one on the to-do list. Children, work, and other activities probably bog down the alone time you have with your partner, but you have to realize that someday in the future, it will be back to just you two. Take moments out of each day and let them know you are thinking about them. Do this verbally I’m going to add, it means much more than a text.

It’s sad that the divorce rate is so high in the United States. I really wish more people took the time to resolve their issues.
