Time To Lose Weight!

Weight is no joke. An increasing number of Americans are becoming overweight each year. This is due to eating poorly or not exercising enough. Both are vital to staying healthy and keeping weight down. Let’s take a look at the statistics:

63.1% of adults in America were overweight in 2009.

36.6% are overweight and 26.5% are obese.

59.2% of obese people exercised at least once per week.

69.9% of overweight people exercised at least once per week.

So, if we do a little math, and we say the American population is at about 308,867,545, then about 194,895,421 Americans are overweight. That is over one-hundred ninety-four million! That means about 3 in 5 Americans are overweight.

Now, that all that math is out of the way we are going to take a look at what causes all of this. Two main things. Not eating healthy, and not exercising enough. We will take a look about these in detail in a few minutes.

What can staying healthy do for you? Well, the most obvious answer is you will look great. Losing your pant and dress sizes will be the greatest feeling in the world. Another thing is being in great shape. Being in good shape reduces your chances of diseases, diabetes, or heart attacks. I’m not sure about you, but not having a heart attack sounds great to me. Staying healthy will help keep these chances low.
